This is a photo of me taken at the tallest peak of Mount Kinabalu, Sabah in November last year. The view around was just breathtaking. Never would I have imagined that I would be climbing a mountain much less the tallest one in South East Asia. I guess the picture says it all, tired but relieved that I did make it all the way to the top. Yes, RELIEVED! In all honesty, I did not really prepare myself for this trip. Even with the last minute arrangements I made with my friends, it was no excuse for me not to beef up my stamina and endurance before I attempted this trip. My friends had to endure my persistent calls to stop for rest all the way up the 11km trek. I was worried that we will not reach the basecamp by nightfall but those mountain steps were just awfully painful to climb with every breath I took. So when I finally reached Low's Peak (4095.2 metres above sea level) at almost 7 in the morning, all I could think of is - I WANNA SLEEP!
PS: Everyone, there were around 100 of us, started at 2AM in the morning from basecamp. It was freaking cold and I could hardly catch my breath.
